Green Sports Cars

When you think about what makes a good sports car you generally want the car to look special, be lightweight and good acceleration.

Currently there are not any real environmentally friendly sports cars which is a real shame, however the future in this area is very bright with some very exciting cars in development.

If you are after a sports car then look for a lightweight vehicle. The Lotus Elise is a good example of this and an Electric version of this, the Tesla Roadster, has recently been launched in America.

Toyota's environmentally friendly sports car due out within the next few years is the FT-HS. This is car will feature a hybrid system and a stored energy capacitor system to provide quick acceleration when necessary providing a 0-60MPH in around 4 seconds.

Honda is developing a more environmentally friendly sports car, thought to be the CRZ. This is expected to be faster, lighter and produce less CO2 that the current Honda Civic Hybrid.
